Novak Djokovic’s visa cancelled: how the controversy unfolded – video

Novak Djokovic’s Australian visa has again been cancelled just days before the start of the Australian Open.

In a statement released on Friday Australia’s immigration minister, Alex Hawke, said: “Today I exercised my power under section 133C(3) of the Migration Act to cancel the visa held by Mr Novak Djokovic on health and good order grounds, on the basis that it was in the public interest to do so.”

There is speculation that Djokovic’s legal team will appeal this latest decision to try to allow the world No 1 to play at the first grand slam event of the season
